A superb, high-level Lake District adventure with Boot Up Adventures

Take on one of the Lake District’s most rewarding and beautifully structured ridge routes with our 10-Wainwrights Challenge. This full-day guided adventure links ten classic Wainwright summits across the Newlands Valley and the North Western Fells, giving you an unforgettable mix of flowing ridges, airy viewpoints and dramatic mountain scenery.

We begin on the iconic Catbells, rising steadily onto the graceful ridgeline of Maiden Moor and High Spy. From here, the route opens out onto the rugged high ground of Dale Head, offering one of the most impressive views in the Lakes. The circuit then continues over Hindscarth and Robinson, completing the classic Newlands horseshoe.

From here, the adventure expands into the quieter, beautifully sculpted fells above Keskadale — summiting Knott Rigg and Ard Crags, two underrated Wainwrights with superb views and peaceful ridges. We then traverse towards the dramatic skyline of Scar Crags before finishing on the unmistakable peak of Causey Pike, a spectacular finale with commanding views across the whole region.

This extended Newlands round offers variety, challenge and some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Lake District.
