2 DAY/2 NIGHT WELSH WILD CAMPING ADVENTURE -CARNEDDAU

Formed over 400 million years ago, the wild Carneddau range is a wide expanse of high mountain and moorland to the north of Snowdonia National Park, just a valley away from the busy tourist bustle of Snowdon.

‘One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure.’
-William Feather

We meet up with our Mountain Leader at the village of Llanllechid, near Bethesda at 8.30am. After our introductions and final check, we set off on our adventure heading steadily uphill towards our first mountain summit of Drosgl (758m).

From there we continue to ascend and skirt, as well as summit a handful of other peaks, taking in all the views on this more remote and quiet, but equally impressive mountain range in Snowdonia.

Eventually we begin to drop down, following the river Anafon to our first evenings campsite. Here we’ll set up and enjoy a relaxed social evening getting to know each other better, taking in the sunset over the mountains and later on the sky at night under the stars, that’s if you’ve managed to stay awake after a good day’s trekking, taking in all that fresh mountain air!

After breakfast, we embark on a slightly shorter, but equally rewarding day taking in the outstanding beauty of Aber Falls, whilst never allowing ourselves to drop down long enough to mingle with the populous, we stay up top crossing the falls and making our way up steadily before finally dropping down at the end of the day to our camp.

The next morning sees us walk the short distance back to civilisation and say our goodbyes to our new found friends and our latest adventure!
