3 DAY/2 NIGHT LAKES WILD CAMPING ADVENTURE – GREAT LANGDALE
Do you fancy just getting away from it all? Getting away from busy campsites and caravan parks and the hustle and bustle of modern life and getting back in touch with nature in an adventurous setting where you carry your own kit and set up camp each night, watch the sunset over the mountains and sleep under the stars away from all the light pollution, in remote areas of outstanding natural beauty and tranquility.
Sometimes you’ve got to take a walk on the wild side … and camp there too!
For plenty of adventurers, wild camping is the ultimate escape into the outdoors.
Walk in the wilderness through mountain valleys and over mountain passes, seeing diverse wildlife, anything from wild mountain goats and horses to peregrin falcons and golden eagles, as well as the many beautiful mountain flowers and heather!
Come and spend 3 days trekking and wild camping with us and meet new friends in a small social group, led by an experienced Mountain Leader on what is certain to be an unforgettable adventure!
Famous for its lakes, forests and mountains (fells), and its associations with William Wordsworth and other Lake Poets and also with Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin, the Lake district is the ideal place to embark on an adventure!
“Mountains know secrets we need to learn. That might take time, it might be hard, but if you just hold on long enough, you will find the strength to rise up”
-Tyler Knott
We start our adventure from Blea Tarn car park, where you’ll meet your mountain Leader at 8.30am and after quick chat and kit check, you’ll make a start.
Make sure you’ve had a good breakfast as this is a tough but equally rewarding day.
On this first day of approximately 9 miles, we’ll take in a high mountain walk across Lingmoor Fell, before dropping down to the lovely village of Elterwater and continuing through Great Langdale, whilst crossing Elterwater Bridge, a Grade II listed single-arch bridge spanning Great Langdale Beck, which dates back to 1702.
After a peaceful night under the stars and after our breakfast, we’ll head south on this picturesque hike taking in the views of the mountains, tarns and disused quarries and two fantastic waterfalls on another full days hike, before finding another ideal spot to set up for the night.
Now for our final day, we swing round and make our way back to the start taking in the fantastic views of the mountains on the way!
At the finish, we can take boots and socks off and revitalise our feet in the water after what has been an unforgettable adventure.

“I’ve had the most amazing wild camp in Hotel Vango! The weather was glorious. The food – Burger, corn on the cob (the best I’ve ever had) Marshmallows! And breakfast this morning were all absolutely delicious.
The guys gathered wood, made a toasty fire, we’ve drank, laughed and I had a super sleep! Stuck my head out the tent to see the stars. It’s been the best, looking forward to returning to this top secret location (don’t ask me where it is as I’m not sharing it)”
