Situated on the west coast of Wales, Snowdonia National Park is one of the most beautiful, historic and diverse landscapes of Britain, making it Wales’s undisputed activity capital.
It covers 823 square miles and is world renowned for its rugged landscape and geology, and Wales’s highest mountain, Snowdon, also known by its historical name Yr Wyddfa.

We arrive on Friday evening to be greeted by our Host, settle in and enjoy a lovely freshly prepared meal whilst getting to know each other. A little music, fun and games whilst sat around a real fire … but don’t get carried away, we’re up early and out for a full days hiking,

Nantlle Ridge – The Signature Walk of Our Snowdonia Hiking Weekend

A 9-Mile Circular Guided Adventure with Boot Up Adventures

If you’re searching for the best guided hike in Snowdonia, our Nantlle Ridge Circular is the headline route of the Boot Up Adventures hiking weekend. This spectacular 9-mile walk is one of the most dramatic and rewarding ridge routes in Eryri (Snowdonia) — offering a quieter, wilder alternative to the busy paths of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) while delivering equally breathtaking mountain scenery.

Our guided Nantlle Ridge hike begins in the peaceful valley beneath the ridge before ascending onto a line of striking peaks, including Y Garn, Mynydd Drws-y-Coed, and Trum y Ddysgl. The route offers continuous, far-reaching views across the Snowdon Massif, the Glyderau, the coastline, and deep into the heart of the National Park. As the main day of your hiking weekend, this walk provides the perfect balance of challenge, exhilaration, and immersion in the landscape.

What makes the Nantlle Ridge so special is its combination of rugged mountain character and a serene sense of remoteness. With fewer walkers than the major summits, it’s ideal for anyone wanting a guided mountain experience that feels authentic, spacious, and truly memorable.

Led by an experienced Boot Up Adventures guide, you’ll enjoy safe route-finding, steady pacing, and rich insights into the local geology, wildlife, and history that make this ridge one of Snowdonia’s finest.

Why this is the highlight of our Snowdonia hiking weekend:

  • One of the most beautiful and underrated ridge walks in Eryri

  • Full 9-mile circular route — no transport shuttles and no retracing steps

  • Expert guide ensuring a safe, enjoyable mountain day

  • Ideal for adventurous hikers who want a challenge without technical scrambling

  • Panoramic views of Yr Wyddfa, the Nantlle Valley, the Irish Sea, and the wider Snowdonia skyline

  • A standout experience designed to be the centrepiece of your guided walking weekend in Wales

  • Perfect for photography, ridge-top vistas, and peaceful mountain immersion
