“I think, every time I’m on the mountain, I’m just so grateful to be there”
-Chloe Kim

Helvellyn is without doubt one of the most popular and iconic mountains in the Lake District.

Come with us on a beautiful walk from the village of Patterdale, through Grisedale Valley and over 5 summits.
Standing at 950m, it is the third highest point in England and the highest point of the Helvellyn mountain range.

Helvellyn was one of the earliest fells to prove popular with walkers and explorers. Among the early visitors to Helvellyn were the poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth, both of whom lived nearby at one period.

This unique and unforgettable walk takes in breathtaking scenery including three deep glacial coves and the two sharp-topped ridges of Striding Edge and Swirral Edge.

From Glenridding it’s a longer but safe and easy walk, on a good path follows the track up Grisedale to the tarn, and then takes the old pony track up the south ridge of Helvellyn. The second part of this walk takes a safe route well away from crags on the side of the ridge

So … come and join us on this fantastically popular walk!

“After a day’s walk, everything has twice its usual value.”
-G.M. Trevelyan
